FAQ

Questions, answered.

Straight answers about how this works, including what no one can honestly promise.

Getting started

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. Your first consultation is a free 30-minute phone call. We look at where you are, answer your questions and explain your options. There’s no obligation to sign up for anything.

How long does it take?

It depends on what’s in your reports and what you’re working toward. Credit bureaus generally have about 30 days to investigate a dispute, and building positive history takes time. On your consultation we’ll talk through realistic next steps for your situation — without promising a specific timeline or score.

Can we work together in Spanish?

Absolutely. Consultations, messages and resources are available in English and Spanish — whichever you’re more comfortable with.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the help you need. We explain every cost clearly on your free consultation, before you decide anything — no surprises.

Personal credit

What kinds of items can you help me dispute?

Collections, charge-offs, repossessions, late payments, medical-bill reporting and other items that appear inaccurate, incomplete or unverifiable. Accurate, timely information can’t be removed by anyone — but we’ll help you understand it and plan around it.

Will disputing items hurt my credit?

Filing a dispute doesn’t, by itself, lower your credit score. If information is corrected or updated after an investigation, your score may change as a result, depending on your full credit profile.

Can I dispute items myself?

Yes. You can dispute directly with the credit bureaus for free. Many people choose guidance because it saves time, helps them understand their reports and keeps the process organized.

What is credit coaching?

One-on-one education: how scores work, how to use credit wisely and how to build positive history — so the progress you make lasts.

Business funding

What does “business funding readiness” mean?

Getting your business into a position lenders can take seriously: a properly registered entity, an EIN, a business bank account, established business credit files and organized documents. We help you build that foundation step by step.

Are you a lender?

No. Gold Star Credit is not a lender and doesn’t make loans. We help you prepare so you can approach lenders and financing options with confidence.

Can you guarantee I’ll get funded?

No one can honestly guarantee funding. Approval decisions, amounts and rates always come from the lender, based on your business and credit profile.

Does my personal credit matter for business funding?

Usually, yes — especially for newer businesses. Many lenders review the owner’s personal credit and may ask for a personal guarantee, which is why we often work on both.

Do I need an LLC first?

Not to start the conversation. But a properly registered business entity is one of the first things many lenders look for, and we can walk you through that step.

Language & contact

What should I have ready for my consultation?

Just a few minutes and a quiet place to talk. If you have recent copies of your credit reports, great — but please don’t send documents or account numbers through the website or chat.

Do you work with clients outside Michigan?

Yes. We work with clients across the United States by phone, WhatsApp and email.
